The Cosen beam drill line automatic tool changer system is designed for structural steel fabrication that requires frequent changes between drilling, milling, tapping, chamfering, and marking tools. By assigning multiple tools to compatible spindle magazines, the system reduces manual tool-change interruptions and supports more continuous multi-process production. This automation helps alleviate the bottleneck of handling heavy structural beams and small connection components across separate workstations.
- 3-Axis ATC and Magazine Capacity: Compatible multi-spindle configurations can be equipped with independent tool magazines. For selected models, a 3-spindle setup supports up to 18 tools, allowing simultaneous processing on three sides of the material without manual intervention.
- Wide Material Dimension Support: The system can be configured to secure and process materials ranging from compact 100 mm connection plates up to 12-meter long structural beams (actual limits depend on the selected machine, clamping, and conveyor layout).
- Tool Verification & Collision Risk Reduction: Utilizing built-in 3D simulation, the controller checks the programmed path before operation. If a dimension error or collision risk is detected, the software can react in $\le$ 250 milliseconds and halt the motion 25mm prior to contact, helping prevent catastrophic human errors (reaction metrics depend on controller and machine settings).
