One of Cosen's European customers produces steel-aluminum cladded plate, which is made by explosion-bonding and used as structural transition joint that connects the heavy steel hull to the lighter aluminum upper deck for shipbuilding.

This customer needed to strip 4M wide x 6M long x 34mm thick cladded plate into multiple 30 ~ 50mm wide strips in one automatic cycle that runs overnight. Smallest width required was 3mm in manual mode and 15mm in auto mode. Based on this specification requirement, Cosen successfully developed AV-40150, Automatic Traversing Head Vertical Plate Saw with 400 mm height and 1500 mm throat capacity.

Starting from the very first overnight run during onsite installation, which went perfect, this machine has helped customer increase production exponentially to the point the return on investment happened in less than a year.

Thanks to this customer's recognition and good words, Cosen has the opportunity to build another AV-40150 for a Taiwanese shipbuilder and the honor to contribute to Taiwan's shipbuilding industry.
